At Good Impacts, we believe travel should deepen understanding, strengthen local economies, and leave places better than we found them. We design small-group, purpose-driven trips in close partnership with local guides, producers, and community-based businesses, with a commitment to transparency, respect, and continuous learning.
Our approach is informed by internationally recognized sustainable tourism frameworks, including the standards developed by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). While we are an early-stage tour operator, we are intentionally building our practices and systems toward these standards over time.
Sustainability, for us, is not a marketing claim — it’s an ongoing practice. We focus on four core principles:
We prioritize partnerships with locally owned, community-led, and cooperative businesses whenever possible. We aim to ensure that a meaningful share of the economic value generated by our trips stays within the destinations we visit, supporting livelihoods, local entrepreneurship, and community resilience.
We design experiences that honor local cultures, traditions, and knowledge. We work with local hosts to ensure that visits to cultural, historical, or Indigenous sites are appropriate, consensual, and beneficial to the communities involved. We avoid experiences that commodify culture or compromise dignity.
Travel has real environmental impacts. We acknowledge this openly and take steps to minimize harm where we can — from trip design and transportation choices to supplier selection and waste reduction. Where impacts cannot be avoided, we commit to transparency and continuous improvement rather than false claims of “zero impact.”
We are committed to honest communication about what we do well, where we are still learning, and how we plan to improve. Our goal is progress, not perfection. We've got a long way to grow baby!

We are:
A small, values-driven tour operator
Partner-led and relationship-focused
Transparent about tradeoffs and limitations
Committed to building toward formal sustainability standards over time
We are not:
A mass-market or volume-driven travel company
Claiming to be “perfectly sustainable”
Promising zero risk or zero impact
Using sustainability language we cannot substantiate
Ethical travel is a shared responsibility. We ask our participants to:
Approach each destination with humility and curiosity
Strive to arrive educated on and to follow local guidance and cultural norms
Respect environmental and wildlife guidelines
Ask questions and offer feedback
We provide pre-trip information and on-the-ground guidance to support responsible participation.
As Good Impacts grows, we are working toward:
More formal sustainability measurement and reporting
Deeper community partnerships in key destinations
Alignment with recognized international standards, including those of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council
Ongoing refinement of our policies based on lived experience and local feedback
1% for the Planet participation and B Corp certification. (We'd be certified organic if that was possible for tours.)
We see sustainability not as a destination, but as a direction.
We welcome dialogue. Heck we need it to grow and improve. If you have questions about our approach, concerns about a trip, or suggestions for how we can do better, please reach out to us at: hello@goodimpacts.world
